Marion County sheriff’s deputies scrambled to an Ocala neighborhood Saturday after receiving a call about a monstrous alligator walking down a street.
When deputies arrived in the 700 block of SW 32nd Street, they located an 11-foot-six-inch alligator in the neighborhood.
Deputies kept an eye on the alligator until personnel from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission arrived on scene. They trapped the alligator and with the help of sheriff’s deputies, loaded it into the back of a pickup. It was then relocated to a secluded area, a sheriff’s office report states.
A popular alligator in The Villages was relocated in March to Gatorland in Orlando.
