Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said his deputies are searching for 29-year-old Cassie Urso, who is wanted for petit theft and failure to appear in court on a previous charge of driving with license suspended or revoked. An order also has been placed to revoke her bond.

Woods, speaking during his regular “Wanted by Woods Wednesday” segment on Facebook, thanked area citizens for helping to identify 29-year-old Cassie Urso, who is wanted for petit theft and failure to appear in court on a previous charge of driving with license suspended or revoked. An order also has been placed to revoke her bond.

“The number of tips were amazing and you guys identified her as Cassie,” Wood said.

The sheriff added that a funny story then unfolded when deputies went looking for Urso.

“We showed up at her work and the manager said when we put her photo on Facebook, she left in the middle of her shift and hasn’t come back,” Woods said.

Marion County residents helped the sheriff’s office identify 29-year-old Cassie Urso after her photo recently appeared on the agency’s Facebook page.

Woods added that it’s important for deputies to arrest Urso so she isn’t “out there stealing and driving around without a license.”

“Cassie, you know we are looking for you and we know you are trying to hide,” Woods said to Urso. “But with the help of our citizens, we will find you. Just turn yourself in.”

Anyone with information about Urso or her whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (352) 732-9111 and select option #3.
