Two 7-Elevens are nearing completion of new or renovated locations, while others are in the planning and construction stages for new establishments across the city of Ocala.
A new 7-Eleven located at 917 N Pine Avenue is replacing a Shell gas station that closed its doors. The former Shell was demolished and a new building has been erected. That location should open its doors soon.
Another new 7-Eleven being erected at the intersection of SW Highway 200 and SW 66th Street has been making rapid progress on its location.
Another 7-Eleven located in the Grand Oaks Town Center received approval at a recent Ocala City Council meeting for its beer and wine permit.
Residents from Woodland Villages showed out in force against a proposed 7-Eleven near the intersection of SE Maricamp Road and SE 25th Avenue.
That location received approval for its beer and wine permit from Ocala City Council members earlier this summer, who cited multiple nearby businesses that had been granted the same permissions.
According to the 7-Eleven, there are currently 9,375 locations in the United States as of August 2021. The business currently operates nearly 1,000 locations across the state of Florida. Nearly 20% of all 7-Elevens are located in California, according to ScrapeHero, a data company.
