An Ocala woman was arrested after a man claims she battered him.
On Sunday, August 15, a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy responded to call about a battery.
A victim claims he was battered by 33-year-old Brittany Hoffer. The victim claims he came back home to get his belongings from staying at a friend’s house when he and Hoffer began arguing. The victim claims he repeatedly knocked on the door and asked for his belongings until Hoffer allegedly opened the door and began hitting him. The victim claims Hoffer grabbed his necklace and snatched it from his neck, according to the sheriff’s report.
The victim says he pushed Hoffer in defense and went to his vehicle to leave. The victim claims Hoffer then followed him and kicked his vehicle, according to the report.
A computer check shows Hoffer has a prior battery conviction, the report stated.
Hoffer claims the victim was banging on her door while she was sleeping, and she became upset. She says when she opened the door, the victim fell down a step and she pulled his necklace, the report stated.
Hoffer was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail with a bond set at $2,500. She is charged with felony domestic battery and was released on August 16. A court date is set for September 14 at 9 a.m., jail records show.
