Florida’s Freedom Week Sales Tax Holiday is now underway, offering tax breaks for goods that are sold in fishing, camping, outdoor, and sports, among other industries.

The tax breaks began today, July 1, and will run through Thursday, July 7.

The sales tax holiday includes certain restrictions on how much of each item may be exempt. For instance, only the first $5 of the sales price of bait or fishing tackle, or the first $30 of tackle boxes, is eligible for the tax breaks. Similar limits exist across every industry.

Among the most popular items that qualify for the sales tax break are sunscreen, event tickets, coolers, life jackets, paddles, tents, fishing tackles, and snorkels, to name a few.
