LINDA SUE DOUGLAS DEAN
Beloved Mother, Nana, Aunt, and Friend
Entered into Rest Friday, February 10, 2023, age 78

Born January 11, 1945, Somerset, Kentucky, Linda enjoyed a life well lived with a deep devotion to her family and faith.

Linda graduated high school, Salutatorian, in 1963 from Flat Rock High in Flat Rock, Michigan. She was involved in many high school activities from ensemble, drama and many other clubs and events. She then married Ed Dean in June 1964 and moved to Lansing to enroll at Michigan State University.

In 1965, Linda and Ed had a son Robert Edward, who died in infancy. Despite this difficult loss, Linda and Ed had two other sons, Timothy Scott in 1966 and Michael Eric in 1970. Linda was a wonderful mother to her two sons and raised them in Michigan and Florida where both sons graduated high school and then college and law school to start a successful family-owned law practice in Ocala since 1992. Linda was very proud of her sons and she is survived by Tim and Mike as well as their wives Karin and Kristin and her grandchildren TJ, David, Rachel, Jackson, Eric and Kendall. Linda also appreciated the support and friendship of Ed and Sarah Dean during her life.

Linda worked for the First Step Food Bank in Ocala, Florida for about 20 years after it was first established to help provide food to those less fortunate. She played a keen role in the maturation of the food bank after it was first established.

Linda loved the Lord and attended Central Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida with her mother Estelle Douglas where Linda loved to bowl in the church bowling league with her mom and her many friends from the church community. Linda loved children and animals and was an avid reader of mystery novels as well as a darn good crossword puzzler; she could even finish the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle. Linda had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious laugh and a most sincere and gentle spirit; she will be deeply missed.

Linda will be buried at the Candler Cemetery at a graveside service in Candler Florida on Monday February 20, 2023.

There will be a gathering for friends and family at her sons’ family farm after the service from 3PM to 5PM.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider a donation to a charity affiliated with her Christian faith to help those in need or to help support animals.
