The developer of a new artisan market that will replace the old Sears at the Paddock Mall is hoping to fill the space with food trucks, restaurants, local artists, and other vendors in anticipation of a fall opening.
The Paddock Market is currently under development at the mall, which is located at 3100 SW College Road in Ocala.
The project is being led by BSD Capital and encompasses the building attached to the mall as well as the stand-alone building across the parking lot.
In total, the space is around 145,857 square feet on 12.03 acres between the two parcels.
According to BSD, the market will feature 20 “restaurant-ready” retail spaces that are each just over 2,000 square feet in size.
Additionally, there will be space for 78 booths that are each around 340 square feet in size, as well as 12 popup kiosks with direct entry from the mall.
BSD is hoping to open Paddock Market on October 1.
The new market place is currently accepting vendor applications. According to a social media post, the organization is seeking food trucks, restaurants, local artists, and produce, gifts and crafts vendors for the space.

The Paddock Mall continues to welcome new businesses, with several new stores celebrating grand openings in recent months, and others in the midst of building out new locations.
Last month, Florida Fishin’ Apparel opened its first location in Ocala at the mall.
Earlier this year, Windsor opened its first location in Ocala at the mall, just a few months after Torrid opened its first location in the city.
Miniso, a Chinese brand that specializes in plush toys, clothes, and hundreds of other “lifestyle” products, is working on a location at the mall, which will mark its first in Ocala.
