The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a group of vandals who broke into the vacant Ocala Jai Alai building last month.

According to MCSO, Marion County Fire Rescue responded to a fire alarm at the building last month. When firefighters arrived on scene, they observed that the front door had been smashed, and the interior of the building was damaged.

MCSO deputies soon arrived on scene and entered the empty building. During a search of the interior, they determined that the suspects had discharged three fire extinguishers throughout the building.

In addition, the deputies observed three sinks in the men’s bathroom that were “destroy(ed).”

An investigation was launched into the incident. MCSO obtained video surveillance footage showing the intruders, and it also captured them using the fire extinguishers inside the building.

No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office.
