Dorothy Maxine Schweiger, née Schall, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025. Born on April 20, 1938, in Camden, NJ, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of Richard (Dick) Schall and Ruth Schall (née Zitzman).
Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, James Schweiger, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. They were married on June 29, 1957, at the Church of the Resurrection in Brookline, PA.
Dorothy was a loving mother to her three children: Steve (Anne-Marie), Susan (Bill), and Rick (Mia). She was also a cherished grandmother to Lauren Simmons, Erica Griffith, Chris Salazar, Megan Salazar, Philip Salazar, Foster Seifert, and Olivia Seifert. Dorothy was also blessed with great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Kayleigh, Elliot, and Aiden.
During their marriage, Dorothy and Jim moved many times but eventually settled in Ocala, FL, where they lived for over 13 years.
Dorothy had a passion for tennis, both playing and watching, and she loved to travel. Her adventurous spirit took her to over 15 different countries, where she created countless memories and friendships. She was also an avid bridge player attaining bronze life master status.
Dorothy’s legacy of love, dedication, and joy will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
